On October 1, an expert trainer from Turnitin will conduct a live training session on the use of Turnitin, covering everything from assignment set-up through the use of the originality checking, peer review, and grading tools to evaluate student work, via Turnitin.com and Blackboard. Lunch will be served!
During the session we will discuss how Turnitin can be used to support USD’s academic integrity policies at the classroom or course level. We will also cover strategies for helping students understand how plagiarism can take form or examine the more popular sites that students visit online, and discuss how to use a rubric to help students develop critical awareness of the quality of the sites that they visit.
You will also learn about PeerMark, Turnitin’s integrated peer assessment tool, which allows students to critique one another’s work, anonymously or attributed. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions and dive into the full Turnitin feature set.
