Grading Schemas in Blackboard

By now you’ve probably noticed that you can assign a letter grade to any graded column in Blackboard. However, before you do this you will want to ensure the letter grades Blackboard shows your students match the point values in your syllabus.

Go to the Full Grade Center and choose Manage > Grading Schema. Hover over Letter and click Edit. You’ll be presented with the default grading schema in Blackboard:

Grading Schema

NOTE this is NOT the default grading schema of the University. USD as a whole does not have a set grading schema; this is up to departments/colleges/individual professors. You are highly encouraged to modify the default grading schema (or create your own) in Blackboard so that it matches yours!

If you create your own grading schema, be sure you associate it with the primary display in any grade column that should have that schema.
